Check-in for October 2

I haven’t been the best about posting these here on time, but here’s my “weekly” update.

LAST WEEK

  • Go to Atlanta! ๐Ÿ’š
  • Do hotel room meditation and sun salutations if I wake up early enough ๐Ÿ’š
  • Be present and engaged for team activities ๐Ÿ’š
  • Enjoy the change of scenery, and have a few drinks (but not too many) ๐Ÿ’š

WINS

Had a successful trip to Atlanta and had a great time spending a few days with my coworkers (and discovering how tall/ short they all are!). I also got some time to wander around on my own and enjoyed a walk up the beltline in lovely weather.

CHALLENGES

Jetlag. It was very hard to get up in the morning, and I managed to meditate 2/4 days but only tried sun salutations once (my room had hard floors and little space). There was a gym with a Peloton in it at the hotel, but I could barely manage to get myself to the nearest coffee shop. It didn’t help that I drank alcohol most days (though still within my limits).

LEARNINGS

Three days of in-person activities and large meetings is a lot after two+ years of not getting together in groups. I found that I needed to go back to my hotel to hide out when we had no scheduled activities. I felt a bit anti-social but I think a lot of others had similar reactions. I guess we’re all a bit anti-social now…

  • PM bedtime ritual 7/7
